WE STAYED IN A YURT!

WE STAYED IN A YURT!

If you are looking for an experience I highly suggest a yurt getaway!

In December we were lucky enough to be able to stay in this yurt located in Mallorytown, Ontario at Busl Cider Yurt Airbnb . We stayed during an event they were having so we were able to enjoy good music, delicious cider and mingle with some friends during our stay. This was our first ever night away in 3.5 years and I am so happy this is where we spent it.

If you are looking for camping but a bit more high-end you will love the experience of staying in a yurt. The owners have really made this space cozy, modern boho and welcoming. When I arrived we parked in the side parking lot at Busl, you can see the yurt on the hill from this lot. We walked up the hill, the view of the orchard was unreal and I can just imagine how it looks in the spring/summer months. After taking it all in we headed inside to unpack.

When you open the door you instantly feel relaxed and cozy with the decor and working fireplace. It’s an atmosphere that instantly relaxes you. It was more than I ever could have imagined. The space beyond being cozy was very clean. They have a sink with running water which with the way of the world was a great added feature. In the evenings it does cool down inside but with the working fireplace it heats up quiet quickly- I was worried about starting the fire but they have these awesome fire starters with a wick and so it was very quick and easy to get going, it does cool down throughout the night but they also have a small heater so that does help. The bed is very big and comfortable, I often have a hard time sleeping away from home because of the bed but that was not an issue. Waking up looking out on the orchard was breathtaking.

This experience was like something I had never done, I have been itching to try out glamping and this was definitely above and beyond my expectations. From what I have researched the temperature in the yurt varies with the season so be sure to be prepared if staying in the warmer months.

A common question I have had about our stay is about the bathroom. There is a bathroom on the property steps from the yurt that you will have access to upon you arrival.

Mallorytown is a small town BUT you are only 20 minutes from Gananoque, so we hopped in the car and headed out for dinner. We decided to go to the the casino Shorelines Casino they have a great restaurant and we played the slots for a little bit. Remember you need to have proof of ID along with your vaccine passport.

When we headed back to the room we had a few drinks that we purchased from Busl before they closed for the day and enjoyed snacks that we brought with us before turning in for the night.

Another spot that is close by but is not in season right now that we frequent throughout the year for lunch and dinner is the Ivy Lea Club- The Ivy Restaurant .

Busl is located between Brockville and Gananoque so it does provide a lot of activities within a 20 minute drive but honestly it was the perfect spot to get some R&R. There is a table as well that I used to get some work done.
