Hi.

I am here to share about motherhood, early childhood learning, life and everything in between. I look forward to connecting and sharing with all of you.

Homemade Greek Turkey Burgers

Homemade Greek Turkey Burgers

Time to try something new! FYI, this is the second time I have typed this recipe now and due to not following my elementary teachers instructions (i.e. saving as I go), I lost the first draft. So, I apologize in advance if this one sucks - the first one was GREAT, I swear.

If self isolation has done anything, it has allowed me to get adventurous in the kitchen; a place I never used to be comfortable, and now here I am sharing recipes I MADE UP?! I hope you enjoy these as much as we did.

Ingredients
Burger Base
-1 pound ground turkey
-1 egg
-3/4 cup breadcrumbs (with normal burgers I do 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs but I find with turkey it is watery and you need the extra)
-1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
-1/2 teaspoon salt
From Basic to Greek
-
1 clove of garlic minced
-1 tablespoon of lemon juice
-1/2 cup feta (because of Walker’s allergy, I used his cheese that we had on hand making this a meal we could all enjoy)
-1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper & heat oven to 375°F.
2. Combine the base ingredients together - DO NOT OVER MIX. Now you can stop here or, if you want the Greek version of my turkey burgers, fold in the additional ingredients.
3. Mold your burgers and lay on baking sheet (I was able to get 6 burgers from this). I like to put mine in the fridge for about 30 minutes before baking.
4. Put in the oven for about 20 minutes or until cooked all the way through.

I hope you enjoy these as much as we did! Normally I would pair a Greek style turkey burger with tzatziki, but we did not have any so we used traditional condiments and they were just as great!
